New Brave Sponsored Images: What's your thoughts?

Rewards

No YUP/tokens awarded

If you are new to Brave make sure to visit their website and try it out here by supporting CH’s referral program. Money received from the referral are used for our BAT task rewards. Thanks!

Hello Crowdholders,

Brave has started a new ad campaign they call Sponsored Images. Anytime you open a new tab, the tab displays (along with your most visited sites) an ad (billboard-style) image. Users who opt-in their Brave Rewards will receive 70% of the revenues generated by viewing it. Below is an example of a campaign done by Blockfi.

You will notice their logo in the left-hand corner on desktop and at the bottom of the screen via mobile. Companies like Blockfi will be paying for their logo & description to be displayed in these opened browser images.

However, if you are not living in these countries (USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom) you will not see the current campaign with Blockfi. In the future, Brave plans to extend the Sponsored Image feature to more countries.

Questions to consider for this task:

  • Are you living in one of those countries where you can view the ads and earn? If so, how is it going? Any thoughts or constructive feedback?

  • For those who do not live in those countries, what do you think of this new advertising approach done by Brave?

Thanks for reading! Look forward to reading the comments.

Note: Brave and CH are not partners. We use the BAT tokens we have earned through referrals from Brave and are given to you. We always make sure to email Brave the feedback from these tasks.

Yes, I am living in one of the countries where it's available. I use both desktop and mobile Brave. So far, it's just been a small trickle of BAT from this. That said, I'm grateful for it because it's an additional way to earn while browsing. The sponsored images aren't intrusive and it again fits the Brave model of paying you to view ads.

I think its a great idea. The more Brave implements, the better for all (vendor/customer and user/consumer). I support Brave/BAT 100%.

I dont know of other but i due encounter some issues with me brave when i am making use of it for a very long period and also when i have more tabs open

I have been using this feature more than 2 weeks and I only got 0.4 BAT which is not really satisfying. I always use adblockers on other browsers and do not like ads at all.

However considering BAT being a promissing crypto I will continue to use...

Personally it would definitely depend on how much the 70% amounts to. Ads are usually literally a waste of my time, so it would have to be worth it. The concept in general is good though and is unique as far as I know.

I´m quite new to Brave and I love the idea and concept behind it. I´m a long term user of Firefox and the first extension to be installed was always an Add-blocker - also VPN is a must.
Basically Brave takes care of your security while surfing the web (TOR included - thumbs up!).
Most users just have no clue how to keep/create a minimum of security and anonymity while being online. Therefore Brave is a great solution - I changed, just for the sake of convenience.

I trust in Brave and BAT and I love the idea of Sponsored Images - I mean why not. I love HQ inspiring images and in my opinion, they are not invasive at all. If one rates the advertisement Brave is offering, I believe they might be even tailored to one's personal interest. Meaning I feel a benefit from it.

After the relatively short time of using Brave, I realized that it is a bit heavier on the RAM compared to Firefox, but still acceptable. I would also like to see a quick access to my Bookmarks and it seems impossible to get back my original Folder structure after importing them from Firefox.

That said. I really like this Browser and also the involvement of the community.

I live in Nigeria and since it is not listed in the recognized country i don't really expect much from it though, even though i have been seeing some ads from the sites recently i think that maybe there might be a chance to be able to get things going.

The idea of the picture is also nice since it also gives the website background a really cool outlook and background, I will continue to use the site and try to get more out from the website.

But recently after downloading the brave browser it has been acting funny, the sync function has been disabled and also it opens in multiple windows: things like profile 1 and profile the browser is now looking very confusing and somehow hard to navigate through, really think that they need to review this again.

  • For those who do not live in those countries, what do you think of this new advertising approach done by Brave?

  • It could be done but the investment will be high to attract users although these types of projects usually work.
Brave would have credibility to mount the service

Hello! I answer question No. 2, since your browser is still not cooperating with my country .... Innovation is always cool and good. I see that a new type of advertising: 1) Absolutely does not interfere 2) Does not annoy the user 3) Does not create a load on the PC or smartphone 4) It becomes interesting, and I want to go over and learn more about the company 5) It’s nice, informative, and I think in further it will be productive. 6) Not annoying.
Your team is great, you can see that you are trying to improve your browser, and you are the creators of new types of advertising campaigns, its promotion and you can present it to the user so that he likes it and there is a desire to go and read this advertisement.

I made a mistake in translating the word: "not scamming", and therefore I rewrote the message above.

I haven't seen them in my country. Its a great avenue for businesses and certain types of brands perhaps more in fashion industry, which may not be the primary userbase of Brave. It might take some time, but its a good niche for certain companies and crypto operates to use.

Unfortunately, I don't see this campaign iny country. I think more should be done to make it inclusive.

It's the best browser I use! Very fast and efficient! The blocker is perfect! We still need to improve advertising for other countries!

I consider this new way of advertising excellent.

Unfortunately I live in Argentina, so I don't see this campaign, but I hope you can extend it to my country right away.

Very good work!

Keep going!

I don't live in any of the mentioned countries and for me, i will say that even though i like using the browser it is quite sad that i don't get the full benefit of using the browser, the idea is a good one for sure and it is a  very welcomed idea.

I will say that if something can be done so that those that live in the other countries will also benefit from it, i was receiving ads before but it has stopped coming for some time now, it will be good if everyone earn too.

I feel this is great idea for Revenue Generation. Does not hamper the look of the browser. In no way, this is a hindrance to work. Neat & Clean way to show advertisements.

I honestly think is a creative approach for not just having the same, let's say it, booring back-noise, but actually put something out there and mix them well, before presentation.

Not a big add-on, but definetly a good one!

Have a lovely 02/20/2020 :)

Nasty change up decent fastball!!

Living in the USA and have no viewing issues or any other issues with the BRAVE Browsers functionality. I do have a issue regarding the 5$ credit offered to download and install the browser, I never received my 5$ credit, I also signed up to see the maximum amount of adds I've had the browser for 3 weeks and haven't been issued any BAT for the ads I've viewed.

Check your settings Jason. The Bat accumulates then is credited to you once a month

I actually noticed this feature a couple of days ago and honestly I really like it. Personally I think this is far less intrusive than the ad notifications and the pictures tend to be pretty cool too.

So from my personal point of view I think this is a rather nice addition.

Are you living in one of those countries where you can view the ads and earn? If so, how is it going? Any thoughts or constructive feedback?

I live in India and I am getting rewards for viewing adds. I have also registered for publishers @ basicattentiontoken but I think here in India ( and many other countries those are in group 5 should receive more rewards as we do the same effort but receiving very less rewards. Many users installed Brave browser using my publisher promotional link but I am getting BAT equivalent to $1.00 BAT.  My request to the Brave team is, please increase the reward for Group 5 Countries.

Further, this Sposored Images ad campaign is very will help the campaigner to reach more people as the users of the browser will see the image on the tab page and it will attract the users to go through the ad because it will rewards a good amount of BAT tokens ( as you mentioned that 70% of the revenues generated by viewing it ). I hope, other countries will also start to get the ad campaign withing some months.

I live in the U.S. and I have noticed this in my Brave Viewer for the past few days.  In general I enjoy the images and consider them a good addition, and I am even happier to know I am getting paid to view them.  This change has not noticeably affected user experience or performance when accessed from my laptop, and do not feel intrusive in my normal usage model.

I have to admit I am a little confused, however, at how and when BAT is earned as this does not seem to track in my estimated monthly earnings (as ads do).  Is there a delay or is some additional action required on my part?

Still waiting for Sponsored Images here in Germany but I think this a great development. It's awesome that 70% of the revenues are given to the users. But I wonder if there will be enough campaigns to serve every user, I think that could be a problem in the beginning.

I don't live in any of the countries where this new Brave sponsored image ads have been enrolled but I like it. I tend to think that you guys hardly consider any African countries when launching something like this, and even when you do we'd definitely be the last on the list. Though we've hardly caught up with the crypto world, I think there are a few countries such as Nigeria and South Africa that you can select and include in your other launch programmes. I suggested the two because they have very big economies and large populations and can support in terms of numbers.

As for the advertising style, its a very innovative one and has the ability to increase any advertising company's CTR. This is because a lot of people I've observed like skimming through the images on new tabs and will definitely observe the ads placed strategically on the home page. I've not installed the Brave browser on my phone yet as I have it on my laptop, otherwise I'd have clicked through the BlockFi ad myself.

Also, this statement, "In the future, Brave plans to extend the Sponsored Image feature to more countries" is too vague and unclear for some of us. The future can be 100 years from now. How do those of us in nonparticipating countries get any assurance then? I'm from Ghana. When does Ghana get it? Will we ever get it?

I've been using Brave browser for quite some time and I love it. I've also been earning rewards since it became available on Android phone in the US. I have noticed some nice changes recently...The background photos are quite beautiful and give me a little smile whenever I click that Brave icon... I've also noticed the ads are becoming more mainstream, meaning they're not all about crypto anymore. I get them for Amazon, Book downloads etc. Nice to see more companies using Brave for ads.... I recommend anyone who is eligible, to sign up!

Just a common Crypto enthusiast.. Wait crypto is not common it's special :)

I am a big fan of Brave browser and have been using it regularly since last year. I feel marked difference in the browsing speed and lack of pop ups and other disturbances. I am however not at all statisfied with the way they rolled out ad rewards and are now managing new features. There is no clear communication on how it will be made available globally. They randomly launch it starting with few selected countries and then slowly extend to others. Quality and quantity of rewards differs greatly between countries.

Coming to the task:

- I live in Spain so this feature is not yet available, and I don't see any info about when in future can i expect to see it

- My view is Brave needs to make clear communication is how and when it will be launched in other places

The screenshot below shows that till date 0 ads have been made available to me, I hope this improves in the future if Brave wants to be a serious competitor to Chrome.

Now, the idea about Sponsored Backgrounds is amazing, because, the logo in the corner on a beautiful image nobody hates but it's very effective. Good one!

This is an absolutely awesome enhancement to my Brave user experience. I've always enjoyed the images, and now I'm getting paid to view them. I love it. Nothing about this new earning system changes anything in my workflow except that I now earn even more BAT for my end-user actions within Brave.

There is nothing about this enhancement that isn't amazing. Great job, Brave Team, and thank you!

Hi Edin,
I see that you have joined recently so would like to share a friendly recommendation.
I noticed you add "UPVOTE please" at end of each post, this is considered unacceptable by most platforms. I am not sure if CrowdHolding has a clear policy against this but this would have got you banned in most of the bigger platforms like STEEM, Publish0x etc as this is considered Begging as per their rules.
Regards,
Sam
