Introducing GYM LGR: Benefit for your body and your cryptocurrency wallet

Rewards

No YUP/tokens awarded

Hello crowdholders,

Today we are excited to introduce GYM lgr and would love to hear your opinions about the project.

The GYM Ledger is a health band capable of cardio monitoring activities as well as a hardware wallet to safeguard your cryptocurrency while also capable of GYM lgr Token Staking.

In essence, GYM lgr provides an innovative mobile app that allows you to mine GYM cryptocurrencies with your body. The GYM Rewards app requires you to exercise to earn your cryptocurrency. The GYM lgr uses its heart rate monitor and calories tracking for mining GYM Rewards and a variety of supported Tokens. So Get Ready to exercise!

THE PROBLEM

People lack of motivation to exercise, which results in risks of illness.

Inadequate information to maintain weight.

People want to accumulate tokens consistently.

THE SOLUTION

With GYM Rewards, participants can get paid for exercising. The more physical activities you do, the healthier you and your cryptocurrency wallet are.

PRODUCTS OFFERED

GYM Reward’s Mobile App

Bluetooth Heart Rate Monitor (GYM lgr)

Cryptocurrency Hardware Wallet (GYM lgr)

For more information about GYM lgr, please read our whitepaper and tokenomics. Visit our website at gymledger.com.

What do you think about this project? Are there any problems/alternative ideas that could happen/improve to be (in)competitive? We appreciate all your constructive opinion/suggestions/recommendations. Please make sure go through some provided documents/information before giving comments.

Thank you so much!

Time is gold, Gold is time

First of all this project is great it combind the cryptocurrency mining and the daily exercise in which it gives opportunity to earn while exercising. This helps a lot of people especially to the people who is suffering obesity and hypertension. Many of the people around the globe are just sitting down and just hanging out with there computer or smartphone and will result to lack of exercise that will lead them to a serious diseases. Because of this platform many people will gonna exercise a day to earn. But I think it will be also complicated, I think many fraudulent people will find a way to cheat on this. Example they use two device on one person because it is based on the pulse. Example if they will put the other one on right hand and the other on left.

First of all, I would like to say that I like your concept of combining blockchain (ledger) and working out. Since the PoW works on burning calories and heart rate, I think that it will be smart to think outside the box and try to target other groups of people. For example, people that love partying (especially electronic music). Yea I know that maybe sound little odd but, after long parties many times my app is showing more than 20 000 steps! Also, it may be great addon for prostitutes (legal ones like in Netherland) where they can earn more while doing their job! But, in case you want your app and wristband to be used only for exercising, you will have to find ways to counter those that will try to mine tokens on different ways :)

I think this is an outstanding idea to merging cryptocurrencies for real life problems. Motivating peoples to be active by this type of gadgets is really cool thought. The only problems that can be arrive that the lack of knowledge in cryptocurrency to majority of peoples. Though GYM Ledger and it's unique concept 'use of heart rate monitor and calories tracking for mining GYM Rewards' is already out of the box thinking that will give this project an initial boost. I'm really excited for this project. Good luck..

Wow interesting concept of mining thro exercise and connecting cardio with cryptocurrency..As the global world is getting very fast paced and ppl forgetting their healthy life styles this will help and make ppl realize that you can earn thro exercise also...A new and noble approach..just saw somewhere there is a train station in Russia where you get a free ride after 20 squats and here is gymledger getting free coins for exercise

Last 3 years I was able to go GYM 4 times a week. I know how motivation is important for success on fitness and bodybuilding. Your project idea is good for people dealing with cryptocurrencies but it will not have the same effect people who are existing in the GYMs. In other words you will attract crypto people to your project but not the person who is already working out for his/her own health. You need to find more ways to attract GYM people where there is a big potential. My suggestion is adding a adjustable program with user friendly interference Where people put their coach programs in there. You need to follow a program for body building and you generally keep it in a peace of paper :). Moreover crypto people can be not so interested about getting some coins by burning some calories Because there are mobile miners which can mine some coins without using your smartphones CPU they just do it with POS.Humanity is always lazy so they will always chose the easiest one, that is why we get fat :) So Gym Rewards needed that a unique solution for a problem. I suggest you try to more emphasize on training programs which given by the coaches. If coaches needed GYM rewards for his/her GYM than it means hundreds of newcomers to the GYM will need it too. Good luck.

Very interesting and practical, besides simple, because it does not call attention to a situation of theft, assists in the control of health. I really enjoyed it.

mining and trading crypto for more than two years, a year with ICO's

It is a great idea but what other else does it monitor beside the heart rate? A health/fitness band has multiple sensors to monitor other things related to fitness and health not just the heart rate.

Carmelo Milian new user

That’s correct, it will work with GYM Rewards and other apps that use these sensors, gps for example. It’s a full health band, with hardware wallet.

I like your project very much. It is very good to be integrated with mobile phone. I'll try your ios app. I will use the application while doing sports.

I think the project is ingenious and definitely not the only one of its kind. The ability to store your crypto in the supplied hardware wallet(wrist band) is awesome. I think it will help with the obesity problem in the world. The hardest part will be getting people to purchase the required equipment. I myself would gladly participate in the project.

The concept is great, unfortunately i've seen 2 similar projects and both failed. Hope you guys manage to get it right. Dealing with hardware or with apps are easy not tasks, not to mention building the community, which is probably the harder and most important.

You are right, it’s a tough project. We are however this first heart rate based minting app, Android has been delivered, iOS is on review and the healthband/hardware wallet has been tested. We are to become the first wearable hardware wallet in the market. We need to build a strong community!

Medium is the message, but it also distorts the message. I solve this!

I love this idea. Currently I am using Sweatcoin which is an app that's using my Apple Watch for data. Perhaps you should also offer the option to combine GYM with other hardware, like the Apple Watch. I feel that asking people to buy hardware before they can start earning GYM tokens, is a bit too much. Another idea for the future would be to setup brand partnerships for discounts using GYM tokens. Just to give an idea of value to GYM. Right now you run the risk the coin is only driven by exchanges without a real life use case. If I would be able to use my GYM tokens to get discounts on certain Gym franchises or web shops, it gets value. And it needs value.

Open for business

Concept sounds interesting, but I don't really see how this is a sustainable revenue model. Where is the revenue going to come from on an ongoing basis - sale of hardware/software devices or what? think that you need a business plan with some financial projections. How is this making use of the blockchain and the decentralized model, rather than just using points - why do they have to be tokens? I don't really see how this is mining, and what the mining is doing? I don't really see how using heartbeats is a useful metric. Everyone has different heart rates and responds differently to exercise. How do you measure that and translate it to rewards?

jo5h Olaniyi new user

The idea is very innovative but the implementation is quite flawed. Just as you said, it does not really pose a sustainable revenue model. If the plan is to sell hardware then i am pretty sure this wouldn't go very far at all despite the promise of token mining which is still do not understand in this context.

Carmelo Milian new user

Great comments, the app does. Or mine, it does minting of EOS GYM based tokens. The idea is to earn them for exercising, the use these tokens to purchase gym memberships and other fitness products. We are launching a fitness marketplace with gym and product partnerships. The Gym Ledger will provide a hardware wallet/heart rate monitor. Bringing harware wallets to another format, we do have a couple of interesting features that the hardware wallet will do that other are not doing.

Thanks for your comment, I will post the link to the business Plan shortly.

We are building partnerships in diferent countries to help with distribution. There will be other places were we will need to ship.

Quality is very close to the Band 3 heart rate monitor.

I solve problems for a living - combining knowledge from many areas of life

As a Movement Evangelist, Biohacker and Health Addict I will give you my perspective and extra issues I believe you'll have to tackle. Potential problems to thing about - Many trackers are really bad at tracking things. Many use algorythms to determine "cheating" and normalizing data (Important to note, as the sensor cannot be trusted). All these big companies have lots of data and they also spend lots of time on training the Algos so they can determine "real" activity from someone just shaking their hand. This might be even bigger issue for you as you lack the data AND you incentivise people to cheat and be "always" active. - Be more clear of where the value comes from. I can sort of see it if I use my imagination and close my eyes. But if it's not clear then it might not be clear to you, either. In which case, the token would be useless. - Bulkness of the product. People use fitness trackers to achieve and meet certain needs. If you don't consider their needs, social mpact, regular life impact, no one will wear your thing and they won't use it the way you want them to. You really need to think of the design here. Things to consider - Being able to pay straight away with the GYM Ledger using other currencies Basically Creating a "mobile" wallet for many currencies, which there's a huge gap in the market right now. Eg. I can't go to a BTC ATM and withdraw my LTC there as I don't have access to a good mobile LTC wallet as an Android User. Basically make it easy. Good things - Incentivising people to move and workout Good luck, it at least sounds intriguing enough to make me post, which I rarely do nowadays.

Thanks for your comments. Great input. At the moment the app uses Bluetooth heart rate monitors. We will be implementing location awareness in the future to limit the app use to know locations gymnasiums, sporting events and approved location. This feature has not been implemented for now because we want to reach critical mass. The harware wallet will launch with EOS, Tron, ETH, BTC and all of their respective tokens. We will be adding more coins in the future with updates. The device will have enough memory to add many future coins, an issue that other hardware wallets currently have.

Great. You have a clear problem and a good solution. I like your project but my issue is that how will convince the average guy to use your product without you "talking" for a while. I say that because "In essence, GYM Ledger provides an innovative mobile app that allows you to mine GYM cryptocurrencies with your body." is what caught my attention. So what about the guy who does not know how the cryptocurrency stuff work. Are you going to explain everything to him or make both your lives easy by saying something like he makes money exercising. But if your target users are people who already know how the cryptocurrency world works then my point is irrelevant. Once again. Good project even though there are competitors around. Just be a little different. All the best

I have that in my head all of the time. We need to make it easy, for the normal fitness junkie, he does not even need to hear the word Cryptocurrency. He just knows there is this app and healthband that allows him to earn rewards he can use to pay for his gym membership and his steroids, sorry, I mean supplements. :)

Awesome project, very good marketing and interesting team. In my opinion could be good to put something related to healthcare. For example, a training support for obesity, a training support and diet list for diabetes users, or something like that. I mean, I am working on it and what people want is a personalized application;)

At first: This is the coolest video I have ever seen from a blockchain project (https://youtu.be/YwpmE0iaHJc). Was it your own production? But, the video shows me an important thing to think over. In my opinion is your focus to strong on the crypto part. Who do you want to reach? ... Gym/Walking/Running fans I think. But where are your partners? What about cooperations with worldwide operating fitness studios and boutique gyms? Make contracts/events with them and reach their customers easier. And think about a way to explain your benefits to crypto greenhorns in a gym. Another problem: The typical crypto associated people like us here spend (to) much time on the PC/Laptop/Phone. I don't think, that the most of them are very sporty runners, walkers and gym fans (sorry). They can help you at the crypto part, make marketing and so on ... But they are not your important target group for using your GYM ledger band. Plz tell me, which of your board members or advisors has a background as an athlete? What about increasing your credibility with well known athletes or gym founders? At last I want to know: If I use the the GYM ledger band and the app, what can I really earn with mining/rewards? Do you have examples? What about a combination of training goals and a reward calculator for more motivation? I wish you the best and plz ... LOOK FOR PARTNERS.

Great question about the "ath;lete" part.
I do also get a feeling (as a casual "athlete" and product designer) that they did not think of their target group. Cool idea but it requires some thought.

The video was made by a bounty hunter! I love it. We are working on reaching out to a know athlete. You should install the app, it works with any Bluetooth heart rate monitor. The board is full of nerds, mostly ex-Microsoft employees, no athlete, Carroll Moon one of our advisors and personal friend of mine does run a non-profit Kidfit helping kids with exercising.

Hi Carmelo,
thanks for your answers.
" ... The board is full of nerds, mostly ex-Microsoft employees, no athlete ..." Then try to change it. In my opinion is it very necessary to have a crowd puller. Scouting for influencing persons with athletes background in real life (and in social media for example suitable athletes on Twitter/Instagram with many followers).

Not even new idea, but interesting realisation. I mean, using wearable band. I would like to by some, not one, your ledgers! for me and my family. Good luck in further distribution to your project! P.S.: Strong nation is a healthy nation!!!

There are other similar projects in which people do exercise to get crypto but plus point with your project is you are providing a hardware wallet cum wearable band which will motivate users to use the wearable. Health benefits plus financial benefits. But one thing is not clear here. Is the hardware wallet is going to support all the main Cryptocurrencies or only GYM tokens? Please clear it. Further, price value of the token should be goood which will attract people more to use the device. For this you should make partnership with big projects. It will help you to grow fast. It will also help you to become a brand. If you will give some discount on the device, more people will purchase it. Good luck for the project.

The ideas seems okay but getting a complete economy will be hard. Also cheaters can abuse this mechanism if they find any exploit and it can make everything harder for the economy.

irstly I wanted to tell you that I was doing your bounty simply because I find your project very interesting with a product already existing and totally innovative. For the community of cryptocurrencies, to be able to undermine while performing his sport is quite original and unique. This is the kind of project that will democratize cryptocurrency !! The small negative point I find, it may be your communication may be a little too based on the number of products ordered and less on the specifics of the product. I wish you a great success!

As echoed, the idea of getting paid/rewarded for exercising is a concept that has been around. What sets this aside from others is the availability of the GYM ledger device. This would set it apart from being just a gammification service. However, other than just having a hardware wallet added on, the team may want to consider added functionality. This is because some may think why should they bother buying another device just for tracking their heart rate when they have a more full functioned watch that has the capability to do so also. Aside to that, value of the tokens could be kept profitable if tokens would also serve more purpose other just just being another crypto. It would be great if the team/ambassadors could work with different sports institutions or health hubs to integrate the use of tokens and device into their system also. The boundaries are wide. Overall, this project could be a very successful one. Great job

There are to other similiar projects around, that claimed to pay users for working out: Bitwalk (don't pay out any more, seems not to work any more), Sweatcoin (they still pay users for walking), so the idea itself is not new, will still attract lots of users for sure. What I personally like the most about the GYM project, is the ledger with watch and heart rate monitor functionality. So you have your crypto currencies always with you and safe as well. Until now you had to spend a 100 bucks just for the ledger, with now extra features. But with the GYM ledger you have a gadged and a ledger wallet, nice idea, like it. I would bet that the project can be financially sustainable in the long run, thanks to the GYM ledger sales. I wish you luck and look forward to get my own GYM ledger.

The only original bit i see is that you added the ledger. Not a bad combination though. But also easy for the competition to add. So if not done correctly you might lose it quickly. So i think it will more or less stand or fall with the actual product. So your focus shoud be: - Usability of the app. - Safety of the ledger. - Get reviews out there. Sent it to the big channels for reviews. - It's important to counter cheating with the app and exercises.

I like this new motivator to a healthy lifestyle. What concerns me is how to prevent fraud? There are many ways to let the watch 'think' you're excercising. Are you also implementing ways to connect the app with the allready available tracker watches to attract a bigger audience? Really like the idea and the way of thinking. Site is also very professional and team is looking strong.

Carmelo Milian new user

We already figured out how to prevent some of the frauds, The app tracks Calories and Heart beats from any Bluetooth LE device. If you don't workout your heart rate will be too low for serious earnings. Also, the more excercisers the more shares submitted to distribute the 100 GYM tokens block per 5 minutes. We also figured out that strapping the heart rate monitor to a shaved dog will result in too high heart rates and will not work. :) Don't ask us how we know this. :)

Forgot to add, the ICO is actually for a device that will work on the existing app, but also include hardware wallet. Ledger Nano kind, but a wearable.

Good afternoon. The idea is not new, there are competitors. Add more functions, such as pressure and warning signals, if the heart rate is permissible, control of sleep. Another would be on the computer so that you could play the different modes on the device.
